Because I can smell all the candy inside for the season out in the parking lot of the Ingle’s grocery store.
Also, fresh cookies for the upcoming Halloween day in the bakery area.
Cookies with I can crumble into vanilla ice cream.
Near the end of the month the city of Douglasville will start putting up “Holiday Decorations” on the utility poles. And decorating the Plaza and Downtown are starting soon.
I usually loathe the Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day time of the year.
I remember, as a kid, having to dress up, and ride with Dad to visit his friends that invited us over and other families giving gifts of Rich’s Bakery cookies, assorted candies, and for a few a bottle of brown liquor. And his patients in several hospitals.
Of course we visited with the same kinds of gifts in return.
However, I was just thinking that people really don’t do that kind of thing anymore. I do like Christmas cards, letters that come from the mail. And family posts on the Internet.
So, I have decided to really make this holiday season fun and not let people who are negative toward me ruin my good time.
