Autumn comes in October and pretty much lasts until Christmas in this part of Georgia.
Churches have pumpkins on sale in their yards.
Why? I don’t know. I guess for pie.
Some congregations frown on Jack O’Lanterns and Halloween. But there are plenty for sale in the yards in front of these churches. I guess for the fruit to make pies and other confections.
I prefer sweet potato pie, myself.
If I drive about 50 or 60 miles north of where I live there will be plenty of different varieties of apples. And local honey.
The leaves are about ready to change on the hardwoods.
That’s what made me smile today.
